Form pupils’ knowledge on the theme “My generation”

The procedure of the lesson:

T: Good morning, dear children! Sit down! Who is on duty today? What date is it today? Who is absent today?

What’s the weather like today? How do you do?

Today we are going to talk about generations and youth cultures.

Ex. 1 p. 9 Get into pairs. Start by working alone and list your partner’s. Work together.

Ex. 2 p. 9 Group work. Answer the questions and fill in the chart.

Ex. 3 p. 9 Match the names of the youth groups and their definitions.

Jig saw. Divide into 2 groups. The first group reads text A, the second group – text B. Make some notes. Then the speaker goes to another group and tells the content of his text. Then he goes back to his group and ask questions for understanding.

Fill in the chart.

Ex. 4 p. 12 Pair work. Tell each other what you feel about your parents using the words from the box.

Example: I feel proud of my father, because he is a sportsman.

Ex. 5 p. 12 Make matches what parents would apply to their teenagers.

Example:

We wouldn’t let them to take drugs.

We would warn them to believe everything they hear.

Ex. 6 p. 13 Agree or disagree with the statements.

Ex. 9 p. 15, to learn the new words.
