To decorate, a chimney, to celebrate, a neighbour, a costume, a guest, to knock, a trick, a threat, roast, a turkey, a pie, a sock, a stocking, a nation, a tradition, to gather, together, to give.

The procedure of the lesson:

T: Good morning, dear children! Sit down! Who is on duty today? What date is it today? Who is absent today?

What’s the weather like today?

Ex. 1 p. 114 Find the words.

Example: Whitewash: we, wash, white, tea, what, … .

Ex. 1 p. 39 (w/b)

New words (фронтальный опрос).

Today we are going to talk about holidays. Open your books on page 119. Read the new words and write them down into your vocabularies.

Ex. 2 p. 118 Read the texts. Match the holidays with the information.

Listen and read the new words.

While reading the text the second time find the new words in the text and read the sentences to your partner.

Ex. 3 p. 119 Add these words to the word map. What holidays do you celebrate in your country?

Read and practice the words.

Read the text again and complete the sentences.
