Past Indefinite tense of the verb “to be”.

The procedure of the lesson:

T: Good morning, dear children! Sit down! Who is on duty today? What date is it today? Who is absent today?

Let’s review the three forms of the verb. I ‘m saying the first form and you should name the second and the third forms of this verb.

The verb “can” in Past Indefinite tense has only 1 form: could.

Example: Can robots sleep?

Example: People can sleep, but robots can’t sleep.

Questions:

В вопросительных предложениях мы переносим was/were на первое место.

Example: Were you at school yesterday?

Negative sentences:

Чтобы сказать отрицательное предложение мы должны поставить после was/were отрицательную частицу not.

Example: I was not at school yesterday.
