The procedure of the lesson:

T: Good morning, dear children! Sit down! Who is on duty today? What date is it today? Who is absent today?

How are you? What’s the weather like today? How many lessons do you have today? What are they? Do you like computer? Do you often use it? Why do we need computers?

Today we are going to review the theme “Reported speech”.

Let’s watch a presentation.

Ex. 14 p. 145 Read the sentences and fill in the spaces with the names of the tenses.

Example: Tom: I’m reading “Robinson Crusoe” – Present Cont.

He said that he was reading “Robinson Crusoe” – Past Cont.

Ex. 15(a-d) p. 146 Put these sentences into indirect speech.

Example: “We are having a party tomorrow” he said.

He said that they were having a party the next day.

Ex. 16 p. 146 Divide into 4 groups (4 pairs). Each group reads one joke. Than change your partner and retell him your joke in Reported speech.

8 ‘A lot of people visit museums,’ he said.
9 ‘This is a very famous statue,’ the tour guide told us.
10 ‘I don’t like that jacket,’ said Bob.
11 ‘I’m lost,’ the boy said.
12 ‘I may be a little late this evening,’ she said.
13 ‘You’d better clean up this mess,’ Mum said to Claire.
14 ‘I’ve already done the shopping,’ she said.
15 ‘I found this note under the sofa,’ said Sue.
16 ‘I won’t be late again,’ he said to us.
17 ‘If I finish work early, I’ll call you,’ she said.
18 ‘I’ve been training hard recently,’ he told the reporters.
29 ‘Shall I make some tea?’ said Zoe.
20 ‘We must go home now,’ said the man to his children.
