The procedure of the lesson: T: Good morning, dear children! Sit down! Who is on duty today? What date is it today? Who is absent today? Who can tell me, what day is it today? Ok, you are right! What season is it now? How do you do? I hope that you are fine! Are you ready for the lesson? That’s great! Today we are going to talk about medical wonders. Who can tell me what the medical wonders of modern society are? Do you know any of them? Ex. 2 p. 48 Write your predictions what medical wonders you will find in the article you are going to read. Ex. 3 p. 48 Read the article and write out the medical wonders that you don’t have in your list. Ex. 4 p. 49 Pair work. Read the article again and find all the medical terms. Write them out. Ex. 5 p. 49 Read the article again, then cover it and say what these numbers refer to: 1967, 4000, 1736, 2050, 1978, 500, 1842. Ex. 6 p. 49 Group work. Divide into groups of four and discuss the following questions. Then choose the speaker who will tell your opinion to the class. Ex. 7 p. 49 Proverb “Prevention is better than cure”.
